Bringing textile science to life at Apparelmaster New Zealand

We brought our Melbourne lab to the conference, with the session introduced by Hiten Somaia and led by our PhD-qualified textile technologists Dr. Hafeezullah Memon CText FTI and Aisha Rehman, taking the room through the full textile journey, from fiber through to finished product.

The session focused on what really drives textile performance, cutting through some of the assumptions that still exist across the industry and reinforcing a more informed approach for our customers.

More than a supplier, we love partnering with our customers and the wider industry on what truly defines fit-for-purpose textiles.

MAY 2026

Simba was proud to attend the LAA Laundry Association Australia Conference in Sydney this year with our largest team yet, a strong reflection of how important this industry continues to be to us.

A huge thank you to the LAA team for delivering another fantastic event. It's great to see it continue to grow year on year, creating a genuinely valuable space for the industry to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another.

Over the few days, we had the opportunity to reconnect with peers, meet both new and existing customers, and be part of some meaningful conversations across the conference, particularly around solutions that deliver real returns, the rapid progress in automation and on-floor technology, and the continued push to make circularity more practical and scalable.

It was also great to see some of these ideas brought to life on stage, including a brief update from our CEO on the progress we're making in circularity.

Simba Global is now B Corp Certified

MAY 2026

Simba Global is extremely proud to announce that our business is now B Corp Certified.

Simba Global now forms part of a global community working to balance profit with purpose and positive impact.

For more than 40 years, Simba has operated with purpose and accountability at the centre of its business. This commitment became more deliberate with the introduction of Simba Conscious 2030, the company's sustainability strategy designed to embed ethical, environmental and social considerations into everyday decision‑making.

Simba Conscious outlines clear, relevant and ambitious goals that challenge the business while guiding long‑term, meaningful and lasting impact.

The certification also reflects the role of Simba's people and partners in delivering the Simba Conscious strategy.

This certification is an important milestone in our Simba Conscious journey. We are proud to join a community of like‑minded businesses who share our belief that profit and purpose go hand in hand. It brings added value to our customers and affirms, across every part of our business and value chain, that we are making meaningful progress against the commitments we have set.

Walking Together for Sick Kids

MAY 2026

At Simba, giving back doesn't sit outside our day-to-day work- it lives in how we show up, together.

This May, our global team are lacing up their shoes and taking part in the Starlight Children's Foundation Super Steps challenge, a nationwide initiative that turns everyday movement into moments of happiness for seriously ill children. Every step taken helped raise vital funds to support Starlight's hospital programmes, bringing joy, distraction, and comfort to kids facing some of the toughest days of their lives.

This is what community engagement looks like at Simba. Showing up. Moving together. And using our collective energy to make a real difference.

Standing with TopEnd Communities Through Recovery

Standing with TopEnd Communities Through Recovery

MARCH 2026

In March 2026, severe flooding swept through the Northern Territory's Top End, devastating remote First Nations communities and forcing families from their homes. In places like Daly and Palumpa, around 800 people were unable to return home for months. Homes were submerged, and with them, the everyday items that make life feel safe, dignified, and familiar.

As families began the long road to recovery, one need became clear: access to basic essentials like clean bedding and towels. Simple items, but critical to health, comfort, and wellbeing, and incredibly difficult to source quickly in remote communities after a disaster.

Through our Simba Conscious commitment to Empowering Communities, we partnered with the Remote OpShop Project, a network of community-led OpShops in remote First Nations communities across Australia. Together, we donated hundreds of new bed linen and towels to support families during the earliest and most vulnerable stages of recovery.

What mattered most wasn't just what was given, but how. By working through locally run OpShops, communities were able to lead distribution themselves, guided by local knowledge, priorities, and cultural understanding. Support was delivered with dignity, respect, and trust.

This is what giving back looks like at Simba. It's why 5% of our profits are donated to initiatives that align with our values and create real-world impact. Because when communities are hurting, showing up matters. And when communities lead, lasting change is possible.

Simba Joins Industry-Led Effort to End Bedding Waste

JAN 2026

We're proud to share that Simba has joined the Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) as an inaugural member and a founding participant in its Top-of-Bed Working Group - a collective industry effort focused on tackling bedding waste at scale.

The working group has a clear goal: to design and prove an end-to-end, industry-led circular system for top-of-bed products, one that is practical, commercially viable, and built to last. Rather than running isolated pilots, the focus is on building the structures, governance and operating models needed for a national stewardship scheme.

This work sits at the heart of our Simba Conscious journey, moving beyond individual action and intention, and working collaboratively to design real, system-wide solutions that keep bedding materials in circulation and out of landfill.

Simba Global recognised for our commitment to sustainability

OCTOBER 2025

We're proud to share that Simba has been awarded Silver Partner status under the NSW Government's Sustainability Advantage program, an external recognition that reflects the real progress we're making across energy, waste, and water efficiency, and the way sustainability is being embedded into how we operate.

Sustainability Advantage recognises organisations that are actively improving their environmental performance and demonstrating leadership through measurable outcomes. Being acknowledged as a Silver Partner signals that we're not just talking about change, we're delivering it.

For us, this recognition matters because it reinforces what Simba Conscious stands for. That we are following through on the commitments we've made. That sustainability is being built into decisions, systems, and behaviours across the business. And that this work is being independently recognised beyond our own walls.

Partnership with APR Plastics

18 June 2024

Simba trials new recycling program with APR Plastics, the home of advanced recycling solutions.

In December 2023, Simba partnered with APR Plastics to trial a new soft plastic recycling program as part of our ongoing commitment to reduce our waste going to landfill.

APR Plastics take the clear (colourless) LDPE films such as pallet wrap, shrink wrap and bubble wrap used within our operations, and using their Biofabric WASTX Technology turn it into recycled plastic resin which goes to make innovative new film grade products.

“Our business model is simple because we don’t want to complicate our aim which is to divert (soft) plastic film from landfill by collecting and recycling the materials into valued applications.”
, Clive Townsend, Recycling Executive ARP Plastics

To date Simba have been able to divert over 1 tonne of soft plastics from within our direct operations going to landfill.

“For Simba, this trial was a great opportunity to collaborate with and learn from industry experts to find a solution to our direct operations waste. The total amount of soft plastics we have been able to divert from landfill has been a great start and shows we are moving in the right direction, but we are analysing every area of our operations to ensure that we are doing our bit to contribute to a circular economy.”
, Duane O’Mahony, Head of Operations AU/NZ

Through Simba Conscious we will continue to examine every stage of our product life cycle to see where we can do better, collaborating with industry experts in pursuit of an ethical and sustainable future.

Australasian Recycling Label Logos

Simba Global packaging artwork to include the Australasian Recycling Label logos

Simba Global joins the only evidence-based labelling system on the market, powered by the Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal (PREP).

The Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) is an on-pack labelling scheme for Australia and New Zealand that provides clear and simple instructions about recycling all separable packaging components.

As part of our commitment to packaging circularity, Simba has commenced applying the ARL logos to our B2C packaging, utilising the PREP portal to assess its recyclability.

Using the results from our PREP reviews, we have gained greater insight into the recyclability of the various soft plastic, hard plastic, and cardboard components of our B2C packaging. So far, ARL logos have been assigned to 75 products across our retail ranges.

The PREP reports also provide greater focus for our packaging reviews. They provide the latest recycling information, helping us design fully recoverable packaging at end-of-life.

By 2030, all Simba packaging will have the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) logos as we continue to work towards packaging circularity.

Simba Global Unveils Ambitious Sustainability Initiative: Simba Conscious

Simba Global has officially launched its 2030 sustainability strategy, Simba Conscious.

The initiative was unveiled in April during an all-staff event representing departments including operations, procurement, sales, finance, marketing, and HR.

Executive Chairman Hiten Somaia spearheaded the launch of Simba Conscious in an engaging lunch and learn session, which provided a platform for interactive discussions. The culmination of 18 months of meticulous planning, Simba Conscious builds upon the company’s existing sustainability efforts, integrating the insights and passions of internal sustainability advocates to craft a comprehensive strategy to foster an ethical and sustainable future across all facets of the organisation.

“Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it’s a commitment to action,” stated Hiten Somaia, emphasising Simba Global’s dedication to driving positive sustainability outcomes for customers, suppliers, and its own operations. “Simba Conscious outlines clear, relevant, and ambitious goals that will not only challenge us but also propel us towards making a meaningful and lasting impact.”

Recognising the collective responsibility towards a sustainable future, Simba Global’s leadership team led a detailed exploration of each sustainability goal outlined in the strategy, delving into the specific actions planned to achieve them. Staff were encouraged to participate actively, offering insights, raising questions, and suggesting ideas to advance the initiative.

Simba Conscious represents a pivotal step in the company’s commitment to corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship. For further details about Simba Conscious and the 2030 sustainability goals outlined, visit the dedicated Conscious page on our website.
